Life is not a bed of roses- Its true!!!

Today I'm feeling upset when I heard my mother is getting a transfer in job. She works in a Govt. College and transfers are pretty part of the job package. But I hate it. It brings back memories of time when ever she had a transfer. She is a hardworking person and lived up to every challenge life offered. But I think now she should have a relaxing life since she got little health problems recently. She managed to daily commute between 2 cities and still take care of the family for a long time of more than 15 years. I think God should have little mercy on her. Now if she goes to someplace far,it won't be possible to commute daily and she will have to stay there. And my father would be alone at home. The worrying thing is he is very relaxed person not kind of active and Mom does every tiny bit of looking after home. And I feel its difficult to stay alone. As a person we need the presence of someone of whom we are used to so long. The coming days are going to be terrible. They are mentally prepared but its sad to stay away from your close ones. Life is going to be very different of what I had imagined.I had thought after my wedding, parents will get our own house(as we live in Govt quarters) and settle down comfortably. But now I see it nowhere in sight atleast for 6 years. God please have some mercy on them and let them live as they want. Don't want to write anymore... Just pray that life should be good for all of us.

Organize organize !!

Lately I am interested in tips and tricks to organize my stuff efficiently. Right now we are living in a one room apartment, but we are planning to shift as soon as I get a job and Hubby change his. So we will search for a home near to both our offices. And finally I will get my own space to organize my stuff. I love to dress up and have wide variety of dresses starting from sarees, salwar suits, jeans, tops, kurtis. My accessorries include mostly belts, scarves/stoles, earrings and bangles. Not much of a necklace person. As I get bored here in Korea sitting through the day I love to surf how to organize your things properly. I came across many great ideas from many youtubers and bloggers. Here what I found most cost effective and life time investment and some classy styles but little costly. I will divide it by the items to organize.

1. Clothes
Its the most important item in any wardrobe and I find them as investments to look good. So why not take proper care of them. So first and foremost thing is to display what you own. Then you can have a clear picture what you want to wear by looking all all the clothes.
  • Best way would be hang them by hangers. And don't choose the metallic thin ones as they don't support your clothes properly and it'll get all saggy and wrinkly. Choose bunch of good hangers and hang your clothes.
  • Next would be to keep the stuff you won't wear mostly like jackets, sweaters. I am planning to keep them in my suitcase and take out when I need. By that I wont waste much space in the closet.
  • Next comes stacking, you can stack your ironed clothes and your jeans.
  • Keep clothes in order, i.e all sarees together, dresses together and so on. So when you have to decide you can look at one place and find your answer.
  • Stack away the blouse and petticoats for a saree together, else hang in the lower bar of the hanger so that they are easily accessible.
  • And for salwars suits, if you have long partitions to hang, you can hang them else stack the salwar, kurta and chunni together.
 2. Accessories

Now here is the interesting part. Most people don't keep their accessories properly as a result it becomes damaged and some time you can't find what you look for (earring mostly). So here are different ways to organize them as well as give your room your personal touch.
  • Belts, Scarves,Stoles : The simple way is to hang them in hangers. You can hang in normal hanger, hang on a nail or in belt hangers. For scarves, you can use normal hangers, or something like this. You can make you own scarf hanger by using curtain hoops and holding them in a rod.( Just now came up with the idea, sounds great will do it).
  • Purses : The best way is to hang them up in hooks so that you can see them and hold one according to you dress.
  • Earrings : There are different ways to organize these. Some are cheap and can be made with items found in your wardrobe and some are stylish but little costly. Most cost effective is use a net cloth, any thing with gaps in it. Then hang it in a hanger and wollla your earring display is ready for you to start using it. It looks like a art piece in itself and serves kind of reflection of your personality. You can also hang them in a stationary box or the plate used for grilling(one with netted pattern, just metal criss cross). This is effective if your collection is small and you can use the box to store your bangles too. See the video. And there are some more but I found these 2 ways to be more storage effective. You can buy earring holders too. They are great to look at, look stylish in your room but a little costly.
  • Necklaces : The cheap way is to hang them in a normal clothes hanger which looks like this. You can put nails in your walls and hang them too else you can buy necklace holders.
  • Bangles, Bracelets : I plan on buying a bangle box to keep my bangles so that they don't become dusty. But there are different types of bangle holders too. The most cheap way is to use a paper towel holder and use it as your bangle stand. You can also use simple plastic boxes to store your bracelets and bangles.
3. Makeup : I wasn't a makeup person. But since one year I am interested in it. Using simple things to  accentuate your look. Keep all your makeup sorted. Lipsticks in one place, liners together, and so on. Keep makeup brushes with the brush end to the top so that they don't damage soon. You can use simple pen stand for this. If your makeup collection is very large you can use plastic drawer cabinets for your makeup only. Keeping nail polish in one place, lip sticks, liners, gloss in a drawer, eye make up in a drawer and so on.

4. Shoes : I plan to keep my shoes in the shoe rack sorted according to occasion. Party types together, casual wear in one place, walking shoes together and so on. You can also buy shoe holders.

So keep all your things sorted so that when you look for it you don't have to waste much time looking for it or sorting it out. I feel wardrobe is one place which can reflect your personality. So organize your stuff from now and have a organized & happy life :-) Make your wardrobe YOUR space.
